This shows the plan view of downstream and upstream fish passage facilities at Cle Elum Dam. Bumping Lake layout is similar.
Downstream juvenile passage facilities consists of a multi-gated intake structure which would allow fish passage to occur when reservoir elevations are within top 50 feet of full pool.
Fish would enter the gated intake structure into the 7 foot diameter fish conduit 1500 ft long and discharged below the dam to the spillway stilling basin.
Upstream fish passage would be provided by a trap and haul facility.
A 300-foot long barrier dam at a 55 degree angle to the river flow would guide fish into a fish ladder where they would swim up the ladder into the collection facility.
They would then be placed in a fish transport truck and released in to the reservoir or tributaries above the reservoir
